Setting up effective push notifications depends far more on WordPress than on the mobile app itself.
Some plugins integrate naturally into a notification workflow, while others make things unnecessarily complex.
Content-oriented plugins
Plugins that manage content publishing (blog, news, magazines) are often the easiest to connect to notifications.
Each new post becomes a natural trigger. This works especially well for editorial or community sites 📰
E-commerce plugins
In e-commerce, notifications can be tied to specific events: order confirmation, shipping, status updates.
Plugins like WooCommerce already expose these events, making them good notification triggers.
Membership and account plugins
Membership systems can also benefit from notifications.
New restricted content, subscription renewal or internal messages are common use cases.
These uses must remain aligned with WebView app limits discussed here: constraints to keep in mind.
Which plugins are directly supported by WPMobile?
WPMobile already includes push notification support for several commonly used WordPress plugins:
- WooCommerce
- Better Messages
- PeepSo
- BuddyPress
- Gravity Forms
- Fluent Press
Depending on the plugin, notifications can be triggered by different events such as a new order or status change in WooCommerce, a new private message, community activity or a form submission.
This list reflects the integrations currently supported by WPMobile and may evolve with future plugin versions. The latest list is also available in the WPMobile help and FAQ.
Why simplicity remains an advantage
The simpler the WordPress logic, the more reliable notifications will be.
Adding too many technical layers increases the risk of silent failures 🔧
